Vitor Vs Anderson
Vitor Belfort (19-8) Vs Anderson Silva (27-4) are scheduled to meet February fifth 2011 at UFC 126 to fight for Silva's 185 pound UFC title.
There is a lot of hype surrounding this title fight and i am a keen spectator and wait with apprehension to see the result. I have been asked several times my opinion on who wins, and i will share my thoughts on this.
It is known by all clever fighters and scrupulous trainers that when two great fighters meet the way one will defeat the other is by a war of attrition, outlasting and out working them and finally trying to best them despite there will. The great Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano and Joe Louis all had late stoppages when overcoming there rugged opposition, they managed to conserve and pace themselves but more importantly remain determined and failed to succumb to discouragement. Hoping and preparing for a short or easy fight where your natural talent takes care of you work for you is fighting foolishly.
In such a situation, despite the impressive abilities and very real threat that Vitor Belfort presents to any fighter at any weight , i can not put my bet on a fighter who has never come from behind or wore his man out over another who's character is so solid that he takes a 23 minute beating and wins from his back.
